We are doing our part
As a part of the sustainable commitment towards the local community of the batik artisans in Sri Lanka, we provide them job opportunities though the commitment of our work towards Wikitoria brand. We train the local youth extensively on design processing and retailing with the aim of building up skilled youth and improving their employability and giving them future livelihood opportunities by making a sustainable impact on the society.
Moving into zero waste produce, we have been conscious from the start of minimizing the waste that can be created, with careful evaluation to utilize those fabric scrap to make small accessories that can give a value on purchase through the website. Considering these items we hope to give birth to new produce of reduced waste.
We like to adjust our ways when it's needed and when we can. Therefore, we have taken action using minimum use of plastic in the whole process including the packaging. We believe it’s a journey that we need to continue to grow into thinking of the environmental impact that brings out. Wikitoria set out its journey towards creating planet friendly platform for clothing.
